MusicFest Vancouver is pleased to present MusicFest Vancouver Reprise (Sunday, September 23, Christ Church Cathedral). This fundraising day of concerts features three one-hour performances focused on the festival’s principal genres: jazz at 3pm,world music at 5pm, and classical music at 7pm. Tickets for each show are an affordable $20, and donations in excess of the ticket price will be gratefully accepted and acknowledged with a charitable receipt.
Jazz at 3pm welcomes some of our favourite jazz alumni who have stepped up to play on behalf of the festival: Cory Weeds, sax; Miles Black, piano; Jesse Cahill, drums; and Rene Worst, bass – plus vocalist Jennifer Scott with a ballad or two.
World at 5pm features another alumna, harpist Lori Pappajohn, who is familiar to many for her WinterHarp celebrations. She’ll reach back to the medieval minstrels and bards with a Celtic-infused contribution. Joining in with more music of the Sceptered Isle and beyond will be members of the Elektra Women’s Choir, led by Artistic Director Morna Edmundson and featuring pianist Stephen Smith. Also don’t forget to take a look at our sponsors guide for bad credit loans.
Classical at 7pm brings together guitarist Daniel Bolshoy and cellist Ariel Barnes in a reprise from their sold out show at Pyatt Hall, with repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary. Ariel Barnes will include one of J.S. Bach’s solo cello suites – and more Bach will round out the program.
